Chinese Journal of Traditional and Western Medicine is a comprehensive academic publication, which deals with the research achievements of medicine in China and abroad. The CJTWM is published semimonthly by the Chinese Clinical Medical and Pharmaceutical Association  （ CCMPA） and the periodical number is ISSN 1606-8106 . It is one of the core journals in China. International Laser Exchange , Training and Developing Centre  is responsible for the CJTWM and the Journal is sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Clinical Medicine. The honorable  chief editors WU Mengchao and LIU Gengtao are members of the Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences and Engineering of China.The CJTWM is published semimonthly, with size A4 width, international format, and 120 pages totally.

　　The CJTWM started publication formally in 2000.The scope of the CJTWM extends over the whole range of medical sciences including basic biomedical research and clinical progress, especially in advances of integrated Chinese and Western medicine. The purpose is to popularize the clinical experiences, scientific research achievements and to strengthen the academic exchanges, therefore to provide a field for exchanging experience, inspiring mutually and linking up information for those working for basic research, clinical diagnosis and treatment. It is intended for high and middle ranking medical staffs.  The main columns of the journal include commentary, original articles, treatise, clinical experience, experimental research, investigation report, review, short article and case report.  It publishes all original papers, letters, and reviews concerning basic and applied researches. The original articles are written in Chinese or English, if in Chinese they should include an Extended English Abstract.

　　The CJTWM is compiled according to the related international standards. The table of contents, colophon, as well as the abstracts, key words of each thesis are written in English. The articles are contributed from every corner of China, and parts of them from abroad. Since publication, it has been included by many databases such as Chemical Abstract(CA), Journal Abstracts(AJ), Chinese Medical Current Contents (CMCC), Chinese Scientific Journal Database (CSJD), etc.
